Finished Mustangs 3 - 1 Chelmo.
Goal 3 was ENG by Rocky at 59:57. Entertaining game - could have been win, lose or draw.
Mustangs outshot Chelmo by some margin, despite spending a lot of time on the PK. |

Shots on Chelmo in the first 2 periods were 25+18, shots on Mustangs were 12+10. I don't know shots for the third, but it was probably much the same. So Mustangs outshot Chelmo by 2 to 1 in the first 40 mins.
Mustangs scored at 12:24 (PP, 1-0) and at 23:57 (SHG, 2-0).
Chelmo scored at 51:53 (PP, 2-1).
Mustangs had a goal washed out (after much deliberation by Mr Hewitt and his linos) at 58:06.
Mustangs scored at 59:57 (ENG, 3-1).
Mustangs could have scored a bucketful, but Brummitt stopped all but 2 of the shots that came his way. Grout had an excellent game at the other end - nowhere near as busy, but he pulled off some good saves
The Mustangs spent a lot of time on the PK and were defending a one- or two-goal lead for most of the game. Chelmo could easily have nicked a goal or two to tie or win. |

With the Mustangs run of results and the addition of Billing a serious debate must be taking place about what happens if the Mustangs get promoted. 2 games against Bristol maybe the decider here, but being top of the league it must be going through peoples minds. _________________ www.photoboxgallery.com/warrencook |

Swindon are the front runners, now, I'd say, rather than Bristol.
They had a slow start to the season and had mostkly played cup games up to the end of November. Now they're in second place with 11 wins from 11 played. They're 2 points behind the Mustangs with 3 games in hand.
My theory is that they're on a mission to secure a D1 place for the other Swindon team when they drop out of EPL!
Next week's Mustangs game v S&G (3rd place) should be a good one. |

Swindon also won 7 - 1 at Gosport.
Have a feeling that Mustangs will be fighting for second with Bristol.
enjoyed the game yesterday, but once again inept ref abd lino's. Lost count how many 2 + 10's for checking to the head were called, not one warranted a penalty. _________________ coming back stronger!!!!!! |

In answer to Warren`s question regarding Mustangs winning the league, and what would happen next season. From what i have been told this week the EIHA are looking to allow 2 teams from the same rink to play in the same division. I think that this stems from just how strong the Mustangs are this season, why should they play in ED2, if they are obviously good enough to play in ED1. For me the Mustangs are the best team in ED2, and must be favourites to win the league, but Swindon have a habit of getting wins. So should be a close run in to the end of the season. |

As much as i would love to see Mustangs up in ED1 it would create some serious ice time issues |

Is it top two or just top? I seem to remember some talk about top one is automatic promotion and then second place goes into a playoff with the second bottom of ENL1..? _________________ www.photoboxgallery.com/warrencook |

sorry guys you haven't thought this through - with two teams in the league
the car park just would not be big enough for 44 Bentleys now would it! |

Steve, are you sure that isn't so the Redskins and Bruins can both compete in D2. |
