Result: Mustangs 1 - 0 Slough
Slough had 11 skaters and 1 nm. Mustangs had 15 (I think) plus 2 nms. Tanner iced, and was on excellent form.
The goal came at almost the halfway mark (28 mins), so the first half of the game was spent wondering if the Mustangs would ever score and the second half wondering if they would hang on.
Daniel Milton was excellent in net and was Slough's MoM. He faced 19+22 in the first two periods, compared with Tanner's 3+18. I don't know the SOG for P3.
Stokes was the Mustangs' MoM - also well-deserved.
Some of the hockey was poor (far too many passes into opposition's skates) but overall it was an exciting game - primarily because of the cliff-hanger element, I think.
I might have seen a 1-0 game at some point over the last 12 years, but I can't remember when! |
