A good game, nice to see the Mustangs playing 3 line hockey. thought everyone played well, nice to see them being a bit more physical this season.

I do expect Romford to be in the bottom half of the table but on this showing I expect the mustangs to be pushing again.

Biggest plus point for me was the defence, very very good all game (only a couple of errors), we will always score goals with our firepower, but was lacking speed on D last year (no offence) but this year the pairings look very good, personally I would play Beerling on first but thats just my opinion.

Well played lads

It was entertaining, thanks guys.
How many penalties were there? Last season saw several games lost as the team played minute after minute 3 v 5 and yesterday was no different, just fortunate that Romford lacked any discipline as well. But a fair few fans there and cant get better than a win!

Oh I forgot to mention the reffing, "OH MY GOD" they were poor to say the least, some of the weakest calls I have seen in over 20 years of playing and watching hockey!!!!!

One call near the end was exactly the same as when I say hello to another player, a friendly tap on the leg pad, alrite mate etc and he called it!!!

Have the rules changed, I thought stick on stick below the lower hand was acceptable?????? please advise

And since when has knocking the pucks off of someones stick with a sweep of your stick been a penalty???

Were they that old? Who was #24 for the stangs?
As for Romford, Joe Allen isnt the player he was and seems to have lost a yard or two of pace. Their #2 was good - no really, he was!

Joe Allen didn't even stand out.

scorers from what I remember goal wise, Fudger 3 goals, Rocky, PC and Lakey a goal each (I stand to be corrected)

Mustangs shouldn't have had a #24 as there isn't a #24 shirt!

I couldn't make the game, so don't know, but if Pete beerling was playing, even a bit rusty, he would look good. Very good player.

Chardie said he was one of the best Brit D men he played alongside and would have had him up in EPL back in the day, if he'd realised how good he was.

Pete Beerling could easily play in ED1 now and would be a great shut down defenceman!

"YOU'LL NEVER BEAT PETE BEERLING!"
