Many congratulations to U18 Invicta Colts player Harrison Lillis who had his 16th birthday on Saturday (making him eligible to play senior hockey) and was called up to play for the Mustangs on Sunday.

Despite the game result not being the one the team was hoping for, by all accounts Harrison acquitted himself very well and had a good, solid debut in senior hockey.

Well done, H Smile Smile

Tim - Is it still the ruling that junior players can play up as many times as they want as long as their own team isn't playing?

Yes, that ruling is correct - the only restriction is that they have to be 16 or over to play up to a senior team.

There are no specific restrictions if there is a clash either. The unwritten understanding has usually been that a player "plays own age group as a priority" but that is not always the case. The decision as to which team a player plays for is dependent on what the team coaches decide between themselves, taking due consideration of what is in the particular player's best interests at the time and also what the player wants to do. Most players will put their own age group, team and team-mates first Smile

Good to see the progression from juniors to Mustangs, and when the first player steps up from Mustangs the loop will be complete.

Yeah, hopefully not too far away now. Of course, we have a couple in Connolly and Scott, who could step up now - if they werent either in the States or Chelmo Embarassed Maybe next year! Very Happy

The future of a Club is quite literally in its own hands, as the development and then utilisation of youth talent is paramount.

Well done to the young lad who's stepping up and I sincerely hope that there are plenty more kids that follow the route: U10 - U12 - U14 - U16 - U18 - Mustangs - Dynamo's.

Keep up the good work!

Its good to see the youngsters stepping up. Lets hope some of the Mustangs will step up to the Dynamos - but there seems to be quite a bit of the other way round lol
