Should be a good game tonight if the away game was anything to go by.

Think the crowd will be boosted by the announcement that the Mo's away game is cancelled.

Fantastic disciplined performance by the boys against a good Cardiff team.

I would be surprised if Cardiff posted less than 150 mins in penalties.

Think we missed Rocky tonight, would have slowed Cardiffs physical game if he had grabbed 55 or 77 and beaten them to a pulp.

Huge clean hit by Stokesy, biggest Ive seen over the last 10 years

Missed the first period, but really enjoyed the last two. Vocal crowd and two tough teams. well done 'stangs you guys showed what you are made of tonight.

Ok have to admit - I enjoyed that! Good disciplined team and a really useful line with Meaney, Lillis, Watson et al. Good to see Stokesy get a goal as well as he wasn't having his best night! Shame that Cardiff were more interested in the rough stuff than playing hockey and surprising how little they had. Mustangs kept their cool though and played some really good hockey for a good part of the game. Grouty pulled some good saves as well - shame about the shut out - he deserved it. Why no ice for Myers though?

Yep Stang's kept their discipline well around a lot of cheap shots by Cardiff, very good team showing from the Stang's as well, missing Rocky and Hiscock, the lines seemed to struggle at first but once they got going they played very very efficiently. Grout unlucky not to get the SO..

3 Cardiff players ejected and about 4 or 5 others given 10 minute misconducts, they didn;t seem to bothered by the score as when they had the scoreboard pointed out they shrugged their shoulders or laughed. The number 14 was the biggest loss IMO for Cardiff, once he decided to be an idiot and get lobbed earlyish in the first you coudl see they missed him.

I don't like wishing players getting a serious injury but the Cardiff number 15 is one person who needs a thorough good kicking, stick swinging cage wearing little runt, nasty little player who offers nothing to the game at all, think he was thrown out for his own safety in the end, although could have easily got 5 match penalties during the game, it was also him whose stick floored the lino.

That Stokes hit was awesome, what a body check, i think the Cardiff player was too busy being cocky about skating past two players, stuck his head down and skated right at Stokes, nice to see him get back up though.

Poor showing from Cardiff seemed more intent in engaging in arguements with fans than worrying about their own performances, I know players like to play as agitators, but when the only thing you do is engage the crowd when your getting beat 8-1 what is the point in you being out there on the ice

Stokesy throws 1, maybe 2 of those a Year. Always the same, centre ice and there's just a sickening sound of plastic crunching and bones being rattled!!!

Shame to see the reaction, seems any big hit these days, results in a melee, while the Cardiff player did look like he was hurt (no surprise there!!) and his 'team mates' just ignored him!!

Didn't see the whole game, but like has been said, Mustangs were missing some influential players but looked comfortable.

Swarb, thats a given these days, anything that happens in the NHL happens in other leagues, If there is a huge hit (clean or not) there, the other team will go for the player

Also I would be surprised if there wasn't refs report for this game.

1. General behaviour of Cardiff (and towards the ref)

2. Specifically for the eye gouge to Meaney, serious and blatent intent to injure. I was ten feet away and saw the whole thing.

Once again the Mustangs teach their opposition how to play Hockey, also on this occasion they out muscled a team who were only interested in fighting. Stokesy arguably played his best game with two of the biggest cleanest hits I have ever seen and I watch a lot of Nhl, his first hit left a Cardiff Devils forward motionless on the ice bleeding, he then topped his brilliant defensive performance of with a goal. then their is rookie Liam who is looking like a special talent who opened the scoring and was an inspiration through out constantly putting the Devils defence under pressure with his movement and his fearless attitude. it was nice to see Pete Carey looking after the youngsters dropping his gloves for the cause, and as for Sean Meaney WOW I didnít think he had it in him but he dropped his gloves for the first time and made mince meat out of his opponent. through out the game the referee continued to make shitty calls and blowing up for what seemed like no reason at all maybe he lost sight of the puck. but all in all a very, very entertaining game from the off and a great team performance.
