Tough start to the campaign Shocked

Its a difficult rink to play at anyway and they had played 2 games together already. Vectis had 4 'EPL' players, who were all out on PP and PK (which was most of the game!) and they were good. They knew how best to use their rink and retained the puck really well.

On the plus, for a genuine development team, with a lot of youngsters, speed wise and physically, the team matched up ok. The seniors took care of any cheap stuff. Just lacked a bit of quality when setting up and through the neutral zone. That will come as the team develops.

Everyone worked their nuts off thats for sure. Bring on Chelmo!!!

Cheers also to Pedro and his 'flappy' bus Laughing Laughing

The 'stangs have a really tough start and Vectis aren't the same team that were tonked regularly against the Mos.
Good luck against Chelmo, I am looking forward to the first home game.

Thanks for putting the game sheet details up Tim - looks like it was a tough game - good experience for the younger players. Can you answer two questions - how can Fraser get a kneeing penalty - he would have hit the guy in his shin ! and how did Pete Carey manage to get a 2 minute penalty for hooking whilst sitting 2+10 for Roughing! Looks like the reffing was up to the usual standard down there!

lol, the penalties for the scuffle were all wrong. As far as I was concerned, Lakey and Carey were the ones who took the roughing penalties. How it was put on the game sheet god only knows!!!

As for Frasers kneeing, he was skating to a loose puck, IOW player also closing in, the IOW player lost an edge (i'm being generous), slid along, Fraser couldn't miss him as the guy ploughed through him, and James got a kneeing penalty!! To be fair, that and the shambles of the calls after the fight was about all the ref got wrong.

Usual Island stuff then!

Not many teams will get a result down there, and for a first game together, thats not too bad a result. Especially when they iced some of their former EPL players, and a mixture from Solent ENL and Rec.

Be interesting to see how many travel to Gillingham? Be good to see that one, and watch "Superstar" Murray get his head tucked up his .... !

The introduction of Mikel will help the team. Where was Fuller? Sea Sick??
